How did we get here....

The past two months have been a journey for our family as we come along side my husband and support and comfort him through severe back pain.  It is not new to us, for the past few years his body has become more worn each week.  His work has been and is the most physically demanding job I have seen him endure.  Though it came with pain on nearly a daily basis, he endured.  He Loves what he has been doing and he is very good at it.

The life of a Farrier-  he finds joy in giving each horse the best trim and shaping shoes to fit each hoof.  He has taught owners care, explained anatomy and the amazing ways the mechanics of these beautiful animals works. The horse as well as the owner have been his clients, he has always taken pride in his work, and thrived on keeping a great relationship with them.  I am so proud of the man he is and the skills he has and his compassion to help and go the extra mile for our clients.
I have not been able to go and accompany him on a daily basis, as I have been blessed by his hard work to be home and educate our kids.   We get to hear the evening stories of the day , we live through him and have grown to care for the clients as an extension of our family.  They have been a part of our family for 8 years.  We have rejoiced with them, grieved with them. Said goodbye to many of them and welcomed new families through the years. Having our own business has been a daily wallk in faith.  It is completely putting our all in the Lords hands.  You set your own schedule, you work as hard as your body can or as little as you can depending on your needs.  You want to please the clients and you go the extra mile, or work another Saturday to fit them in.  You hope you get paid at the end of the day and you are thankful to arrive back home safe and sound each evening.  It has been an amazing journey which I am proud to have walked beside my strong man each day.

This past year , we began praying for a new door to open.  Not because Jerry disliked what he was doing.  Not at all, yet, he was becoming more and more worn from the physical demands on his body.  It is hard to watch your strong man give all he has to continue and provide for his family , yet have nothing at the end of the day in the means of physically connecting with the kids.  We have watched as that mighty guy whom I know can concquer a Mountaintop , could hardly take his boots off at the end of the day. Oh how I miss that fella. As 2014 neared its end , he had already recovered from broken ribs, and tweaked back a few times. yet this last injury had left him mostly immobile. As the weeks have progressed we have seen how it is more than a tweak that will get back inshape . Through our prayer time , it has been clear that the Lord was closing this door.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ NIV)
